CAPS 2311 Meeting Tonight

A reminder that CAPS Beat 2311 is having its monthly meeting tonight, 7-8pm, in the Truman College cafeteria (1145 W Wilson).  You can talk to the officers assigned to that beat about last week's insanity, as well as work with police and other residents to pinpoint trouble areas.

  1. Can someone report back on the condition of the gentleman who was stabbed - if it's known?

  4. A suspect has been identified and arrested and charges have been filed. I believe the suspect has been charged with aggravated assault.

  5. The Offender's last name is Riggs. He was charged with felony aggravated battery. A rather serious charge.

  6. Anyone have any information or care to comment on how all those police managed to let the women who hit several police cars actually get away?

  7. Jason---you had a perfect opportunity to get all your questions answered last night at this meeting. You could have asked the CAPS Lieutenant or any of the officers who were at the meeting.

Apparently you didn't attend your own CAPS meeting.

  8. not all of us can make ourselves available for these meetings, Ben. Some of us have travel schedules, work schedules, and prior commitments to contend with. An update from anyone regarding this CAPS meeting would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  9. What is strange, Jason, is that at the CAPS meeting the sergeant said the the driver of the car, that hit the police cars, was male.

  10. During last week's positive loitering event, a police officer confirmed that the driver was male with a female passenger - AND a baby in the backseat - therefore they couldn't shoot or use excessive force.

Had a baby not been in the backseat, I am sure they would have been able to do more as the driver obviously endangered the lives of several officers.
