Thanks, Uptown!

A reader writes in:
"I just realized that I forgot to follow up on my fundraising efforts for The Trevor Project. Sorry about that, but I do have great news - I was able to raise over $3,400, including over $1,000 from the fundraiser at Wild Pug!!!

The Trevor Project operates the only accredited, nationwide, around-the-clock crisis and suicide prevention helpline for LGBTQ youth. Considering the fact that each phone call to The Trevor Helpline costs approximately $15, our efforts helped to fund 225 phone calls and potentially saved many young lives.

I'm hoping that you can let your readers know that I wouldn't have been able to do it without the help of the owners of Wild Pug, Steve and Brian. I frequently see them giving back to the local community through sponsoring charity events and teams for local sports leagues. I think it's important for us to support local businesses like Pug and Crew because they really do have a positive influence on Uptown.

Also, thanks to you, Uptown Update for posting the information about my fundraiser. I met more than a few neighbors that attended the event based on your posting. Thanks!!!"
