CPD Home Security Assessment

In light of recent burglaries and attempted break-ins, did you know that the Chicago Police will come to your home and show you how to make it more secure?  An officer will point out vulnerable entry points, take a look at your door locks, and give lighting recommendations, among other things.

This overall security assessment is an example of your tax dollars at work -- in other words, no fee.  Call your local CAPS office to set it up:

23rd District: 312-744-0064
20th District: 312-742-8770

  1. I had no idea about this, thanks! We've only had 2 attempted break-ins in our condo building in 17 some years.
Frankly, I'm more concerned about the random gun fire and muggings in this wonderful 'not your college campus' up here.

  3. Can they please do an assessment of the following address?

    Alderman Shiller's
    46th Ward Service Office
    4544 N Broadway
    Chicago, IL 60640

I believe I have been robbed by a TIF and the perp can sometimes be found there.... I would like to see if the police can find ways to prevent her taking my money in the future too...

  4. lmao USH! Be sure to remind the police to go in armed, because her staff usually is with baseball bats because us evil condo owners are known to be so violent. Then again, they might not want to go in armed because they will certainly be videotaped by a certain 'group' of "concerned citizens" cough*

Here in Chicago, for whatever reason, the bad guys are officially referred to as "Offender" on all Police Reports, (I guess because we find criminals offensive!). The term "perp", a slang for perpetrator, is a NYPD term that also gets TV airplay (just a friendly FYI :-).

As far as "prevent(ing) her taking my money in the future too", that will have to be your and everyone else's job on February 22nd 2011, when you have the duty as a voter, to remove her from office.
