The little white frame house on the 4700 block of Winthrop that we featured the history of last November is no more. A neighbor writes: "The white house on 4700 block of Winthrop was torn down over the weekend ... or yesterday ... anyway ... it’s gone."

Why are Uptown's non-profits allowed to run historic properties into the ground and then destroy them? This has been a historic area but it's great properties are being stripped apart and tossed away like temporary army barracks by this generation.
