events this Friday night, October 9th, from 7-8 PM. The locations were chosen because of the recent spate of violence nearby.Neighbors who live in the Magnolia Malden Neighbors area are asked to gather at the corner of Leland and Malden at 7 PM. This is the third consecutive Friday for this corner.
Neighbors who live in the Truman Square and Lakeside area are requested to gather at the corner of Leland and Sheridan at 7 PM. Neighbors have been gathering at this time and location for the past six weeks.
Positive Loitering is a great way to come out and meet new neighbors and start taking back our neighborhoods from those who are creating this violence. Please come out and show our strength as a neighborhood.
Of course the invitation is extended to all concerned residents of Uptown. We look forward to having all of our neighbors participate, regardless of geographic boundaries. See ya'll tonight!

ReplyDeleteNot a chance. Whether your a yuppie condo owner or a resident who has been here for a long time....I think both can admit that she is not doing her job.
Other Alderman at least give their constituents lip service saying they care. She can't even do that right.
She has lost contact with all the residents in our ward. She refuses to support you for your positive loitering. Shes refuses to even answer any questions asked by residents. I guess she only stands for negative loitering that starts right in her office. I think this ward needs positive loitering in front of her dam office.....
ReplyDeleteI say this honestly. I believe Helen sees positive loitering as people picking on poor people. Not only will she NOT go to these events, she says nothing about them. Her silence is deafening.
ReplyDeleteHelen Shiller and all concerned residents should come out and try it before they decide how they feel about Positive Loitering as a tatic in the ongoing battle to improve safety and the quality of life in Uptown.
