The Truman Community College swimming pool isn't ready for the community yet (anyone got a spare $600 grand?), but Uptowners have another option now that the warm weather is finally here. Chase Park's outdoor pool opened this week, on Ashland just south of Lawrence. Check out the pool schedule here. The Chase Park website is here.

Water, Water Everywhere

Chase Park is a little bit of heaven in Uptown. My daughter and I go there for open swim during the summer. It's always full and raucous but a lot of fun and a great spot to catch up with neighborhood kids.
ReplyDeleteFor lap swim, its jusssssst long enough to get a good workout. Also, they have kickboards!
ReplyDeleteChase actually had a water carnival every summer in the late 60's early 70s at the pool complete with clowns and diving competitions etc. It was a very popular place to hang out in the summer heat. I am glad the pool is still there for those to enjoy. BTW,Pat O'Connor of the 40th ward was our lifeguard.
