BPN Announces Concert In The Park

It must be nearly summer: Buena Park Neighbors has announced its first free concert of the season. Save the Date: June 25!

BUENA PARK NEIGHBORS (BPN) is pleased to announce the first of two concerts in Buena Circle Park. Buena Park neighbors and their families will come together under the stars to listen to the Reunion Blues Band. The first free concert takes place on Thursday, June 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Buena Circle Park is located at the intersection of North Kenmore Ave and West Buena Ave (1000 block West and 4200 block North).

The Reunion Blues Band concert is sponsored by Stefano Roman, owner of Pizza Rustica, 3913 North Sheridan Road, and Michael Carroll and the residents of 732 W Bittersweet Place. Additionally, BPN is conducting a food drive that evening to benefit St. Mary of the Lake’s food pantry. All neighbors attending the concert are asked to please bring a non-perishable item(s) to help those less fortunate.

BPN dedicates the June 25th concert to the memory of Ray Rickert, long-time Uptown resident, SSA Commissioner, and enthusiastic Buena Park Neighbors supporter.

The Buena Circle Park concert series is organized by BPN in conjunction with the Chicago Park District. All neighbors and families are welcome!

  1. I would love to go but last year all the fairs I went to in the uptown area I was tired of all the begging that went on outside and around most of the events from all the undesired folks. If its safe and free from this then I would enjoy it and go.....My wife and I always attend the Gay Pride Fest at the ned of June and other outdoor events in and around boystown and there is is safe and well run and free of the ones that hang around our area that spoil it for us all.

  2. Once upon a time there was a pond in the Buena Circle which was jokingly referred to as a "Lake." It was incorporated into the name of St. Mary of the Lake Church.

At least that's what I learned during a tour of the building several years ago.
