$15 Will Get You $30 At Fontana

If you haven't yet tried Fontana Grill (Beacon and Wilson), or if you're a regular who wants to save a few bucks, have we got a deal for you! Several readers made us aware of a "Groupon" (Group Coupon) that's only available for purchase until midnight tonight. Pay $15 and get a coupon worth $30 in food and drink at Fontana.

The website says: The laid-back vibe and cozy outdoor patio will charm you right off the bat, but the mouth-watering menu of Italian favorites and wide variety of wines will keep you coming back. The stone-fired pizzas are big hits, as are the grilled polenta with cevapi and the calamari (grilled or fried). But don’t forget about the wine. You can sample 24 different varieties and flex your newfound aroma mastery while you’re at it. Try the 12-oz. tasting for just $10, mixing and matching from your choice of two to four wine varieties in 3-oz. or 6-oz. glasses. If you put your entire $30 value toward three wine tastings, you could sample as many as 12 delicious wines!

Click here for the coupon. (We recommend the burger and the pollo parmagiana.)

Update: The founder of Groupon will be featured on Chicago Tonight Tuesday.

Update 2: As of 4:00pm, more than 400 coupons have been purchased. Wow!

Update 3: 516 coupons were bought through Groupon. Looks like Fontana will be a very happening place in the coming weeks.

  1. Coupon or not, I urge all our local neighbors to get out and have a meal at Fontana. Great food, great wine, great service!

  2. I went there with my wife and it was very good. I would return again. I drove there as walking down Wilson is a real threat to your safety. Plenty of parking...

  3. We go as often as we can. Don't be scared to walk Barry. Being more visible shows a bigger presence in the neighborhood.

  4. WAW: Agreed. Hopefully more sit-down restaurants will invest in outdoor seating. (Iyanze??) I know there are ordinances about not blocking sidewalks with seating, but I think that could be avoided in most cases. Anything that increases public presence and watching eyes really helps. (Note this is my same reason for encouraging responsible dog walkers.)
