We heard today from the Chicago Department of Public Health regarding the current status of the Popeye's at Wilson & Broadway:
"On Monday of this week, Popeye’s signed the customary affidavit saying they have corrected all health violations, and requesting re-inspection.
Re-inspection occurred Tuesday morning. Popeye’s failed re-inspection, because they still had not fixed some of their plumbing problems. Specifically, there was still wastewater leaking from under their three-compartment sink and their mop sink; and the bathroom was still unclean and had a foul odor.
Another re-inspection occurred today. Plumbing violations fixed, and bathroom cleaned up.
Popeye’s is free to re-open at this point."
It'll take a brave (or naive) person to eat the first meal there.
