Uptown Bank Robbed

An Uptown bank branch was robbed Wednesday morning. A man who implied he had a weapon robbed a bank on the 4700 block of North Clark Street about 9:17 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien. That bank is a North Community Bank branch, according to FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates. After making his demand, the man fled with an undetermined amount of cash, O'Brien said. FBI agents were on the scene as of noon, Yates said, but further details were not immediately available.
