Orange You Glad To See The Lights?

Several readers wrote in that work is now underway at the former currency exchange at Wilson and Clark, with groovy orange lights being installed today. We don't know if the store has a tenant yet -- the lights seem pretty specific -- but we're hoping to see the space in this beautiful old building occupied soon. Anyone know what may be going in?

  1. Before the Zephyr restaurant closed some time ago, they were saying they would be at Wilson and Clark. Maybe this is it?

  3. "I'm hoping for a nice neighborhood pub..."

Although I prefer "pub," I think the folks who do Uptown Update prefer calling them "watering holes."

  4. If you're missing Zephyr, Tiztal Cafe, on Clark between Wilson and Leland, is owned by the same people who used to own Zephyr. Good brunches and good ice cream.

In the picture, with those lights right by the front windows, I'm wondering if it's going to be a coffee house.

  5. Great! If there's a "coffee house" on the north end, and Anna Maria Pastaria on the south end, they'll make perfect "bookends" for the funky Clark St. shopping strip that attracts ladies from all over the city and elsewhere!

Check 'em out ladies - those stores carry fabulous costume jewelry, purses and SHOOOOOES at wholesale prices!

  6. I just passed by a Subway sandwich shop with hanging orange lights in the front windows! Could this be a new Subway in Uptown?
