Looks like Fiesta Mexicana at Broadway and Lawrence is making some changes. The building's exterior is surrounded by scaffolding and the sign has been taken down. Anyone got any details?
I would love to see a Fiesta Mexicana sign that sat flush on the building so the "Green Mill Gardens" was more visible. It would also match the other signage on this building.
I'm with Green (and Keith.) Fiesta has been around a long time, and rightly so -- they have good food, great margaritas, friendly staff, and a comfortable atmosphere.
the food is pretty good, but I am still on the lookout for a great chimichanga. Fiesta Mexicana is pretty good, but the chimi is not their specialty, in my opinion.
I last visited Fiesta about 1990-91 after having visited regularly, if not frequently. Let's just say I encountered a critter where such critter shouldn't have been.
Andy...my partner swears by El Mariachi's chicken chimichanga with nortenia(sp?) sauce.
I noticed the location on Lincoln near Fullerton is under construction as well
ReplyDeleteThe one at Lincoln and Fullerton had a fire a while back. The Uptown location, not sure what's going on.

ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't change the food or the margaritas.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I would love to have the space split between Crew and the Wild(e) Pug and make one, big, mega-bar.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I've eaten at Fiesta Mexicana, the food was less than mediocre and the drinks even worse. (Sorry keith)
I'm with Keith. Fiesta is one of my all-time favorite Uptown hangouts. The Gold Margaritas are particularly strong, and the staff is always friendly.

ReplyDeleteThe building is just getting some tuck point work done. Nice to see it get some rehab done too!

Fiesta is like an easy rider that you just can't quit.
