  1. Seeing how things are currently going in the world, the organizers may need to eventually use this plot of land as a Peas (and other vegetables) Garden rather than a Peace Garden.

I certainly endorse world harmony and all that (I'm also realistic about the human condition), but isn't the "Peace Garden" moniker rather cliche and worn out? The idea seems overly simplistic and unoriginal.

Google the words "Peace Garden" and you'll see what Im getting at.

  2. So contemptuous of other people's ideas, volunteerism, and hard work in neighborhoods that are not your own....

    Sad.

So is it the moniker you dislike or the idea? or both?

If you like, I can get hold of a small plot of land to start a War Garden. We can leave a special space for the drug dealers to ditch their good when the cops roll by.

  4. How about a community vegetable garden on Clarendon across from the hospital? Spots could be rented out for an annual fee and the program could stop when a new developer came along. The land was scheduled for development but we recently found out that fell through and it would be a great area to have a community vegetable garden. The hospital may even help sponsor it.

  6. Like there could be too many peace gardens, epecially in Uptown.

Where does all the negativity and anger come from?

Bravo to the Lakeside Neighbors for bringing nature, beauty and tranquility to a neighborhood that surely could use it.

  9. Notice BillyJoe went negative on every post today?

Please don't answer him. Negative people are at higher risk of disease and die younger. So every time we argue with him we bring him one step closer to death. While I am not a big fan of Evanstale, I certainly don't want to go around killing it's residents.
