  4. Chip,

that is a dirty lie. I'm more of a stout kinda guy. Guinness, Murphy's,O'Hara's(which they have at Bar on Buena, allegedly)Beamish, and some that aren't easily acquired in the United States.

That type of beer and red wine are about all that I drink in terms of alcohol. As that famed electrician and womanizer Ben Franklin said "beer is proof that God exists and that she loves us".

  6. I want to thank UU for making me aware of issues in my neighborhood that affect me and the rest of the community. For instance, I would have never known about the town hall meeting or CAPS.

You are making a difference. Keep fighting the good fight!

  14. Congrats UU!

By directing my neighbors to this blog they are finally starting to pull their heads out of the sand about things that go on in the n'hood.

And to answer one item from north magnolia's post - name a movie filmed in Uptown:

"Flatliners" (Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts, etc...) There's a scene filmed at St Mary's School & the Buena Playlot.

  18. Farrell,

Try this to find the sweet stout known as Murphy's.

I know they have it at the Irish Oak. I'm sure some other bars have it also. I seldom see it in the cans at Liquor emporiums.

If you haven't tried O'Hara's stout head on over to Bar on Buena and give it a taste. Not quite as sweet as Murphy's or as rough as Guinness.
