Beach Bummed

Just as beach goers arrived for the start of a great weekend with beautiful skies overhead, lifeguards raised the red flag signaling the close of Montrose & Wilson beach fronts due to high e-coli counts. The “swim ban” started at 9:45 a.m. Friday so be sure to check their statuses at 311 or the Park District phone number before heading out for a swim. Mondog beach is open for dogs to play on the sand but neither people or animals may enter the water.

  1. If I had kids you couldn't pay me enough to let them swim in the lake at anytime. Not to mention all the lead in the soil. Also the radio active mediation thats going on for the new park next to the Chicago Spire. (I work in the business) Thank the industrial revolution for high cancer rates. Nasty!!
