Block Party Reminder

Truman Square Neighbors would like us to remind everyone that their first annual Block Party is today from 3-8pm. Suggested admission is $5; kids 12 and under are free. The Brother John Trio, from Buddy Guy's Legends, will play 5-7 p.m. There'll be a bounce house and other activities for the kids, and lots of food and drink from local restaurants.

They're having 15 great raffle prizes (International Cleaners gift certificates, Magnolia Cafe "2 for Brunch" gift certificate, Soggy Paws free dog wash and gift bag, Marigold Restaurant gift certificate, Unique So Chique "High Tea for 2," Dib Restaurant gift certificates, and 2 tickets to Saturday Night's Chicago Fight Night at the Aragon). Tickets are $1 each and 6 for $5. The drawing is at 7, and you need not be present to win.

Please stop by the 4700 block of Kenmore and join the festivities.

  1. I would please ask that as many of our Uptown neighbors that could join us do today. We are trying so hard to bring this neighborhood forward.

And I think it is really important to note... we have a number of Section 8 housing units that are, for the most part, successfully integrated into our neighborhood.

So please help us on our first foray into the big stage of a block club!

Oh, and please keep calling 911 for all the loiterers and dealers etc that hang out at Lawrence and Sheridan. Remember, Lawrence is the gateway for LSD for many of your homes as well!

    Thanks everyone!
