'Beaconshire' Luxury Rentals Coming Soon

For those of you who are looking for a rental in Uptown in the near future that is brand-spankin' new, look no further than the "Beaconshire" at Beacon and Leland. Workers are gutting the building at the moment, but you can expect studios, one, and two bedroom units. The building is being marketed by "Apartment Source."

  1. We used to rent from Apartment Source, they are horrible. Check out other reviews http://www.yelp.com/biz/apartment-source-the-chicago

  2. Ouch, Jason. They don't sound like a great management company. Maybe they will run this property better. We can only hope.

  4. As a youngster to Chicago, my roommates and I used the Appartment Source as well. I echo the thumbs down. One particular highlight was coming home one day with a huge Water Department sticker covering the door saying our water was going to be shut off due to lack of payment. The managament company wasn't too good at paying bills, but they sure were good at making the tenants pay late fees if they were a day late on rent.

  5. I once had the pleasure of checking out a couple rooms for rent inside this building. Yikes, what a hole. Glad to see they're refurbishing it (as, I am sure, are the developers of the two new, very overpriced condo buildings adjacent to it).

  6. We took a tour of this 4706-10 N Beacon (Beaconshire) building just a week ago...It has 40 units, all on the very small boxy side. I think they did a cheesy and cheap renovation job! They did not replace the interior walls, and put in very basic fixtures. The rental agent said the range is $695 for a studio up to $1200+ for a 2 bedroom; the heat is hot water radiators too , and I don't recall seeing any a/c. The building is long and narrow and expands all the way back to the alley....The best part of the building is the front view and new landscaping. We noticed a few people already moving in starting 9/1. There is no green space or parking either. I laughed when I read the sign that says "Luxury apartment rentals" it is far from that. The building just South of there on the corner looks to be a cheap rental (section 8 housing? by the looks of it) too, but at least they are bigger and the yard is much nicer-- well maintained from the outside. You can expect alot of noise once this building is fully occupied.
