They Passed

According to "EveryBlock" both "Express Corner" and "Popeyes" passed restaurant inspections on May 27 after both failing recently. Let's hope this was a wake up call to both to keep their establishments clean and tidy.

  4. You might want to read the health department's reason for closing that location before asking "What's wrong with Popeye's?" Vermin, for starters.

Let's hope they keep it cleaned up.

  5. QUESTION-
Unrelated to this topic but I don't know where else to ask it-
I was eating at DIB on Lawrence and Kenmore the other night when I saw a shuttle type bus from Horseshoe Casino driving west on Lawrence, a few minutes later it was heading back east and stopped and picked up a woman standing on the south-west corner of lawrence/kenmore, then looked like it was stopping again as it approached Sheridan but my view was obscured...

My Question--is it normal for casinos to offer free shuttles to/from neighborhoods such as Uptown?

  6. All I could find about the shuttle was that they pick up from downtown hotels, but I didn't see anything about individual pick-ups outside of downtown.

  7. Yeah, the "Entertainment Tour" buses all go to casinos. They pick up all over Chicago. I had a friend who lived in the Gold Coast who used to take them to Indiana nearly every day.

  8. It's normal for casinos to have shuttles all over the city, especially with the price of gas. Four Winds has one in Chinatown.

  10. 1) Per the "I like Popeyes" comment, I'm guessing the original commenter didn't mean he like the chicken at that particular Popeyes... just Popeyes in general. That particular Popeyes was nasty as all get-out and has been since the one and only time I went in there about seven or eight years ago. At least I think it was Popeye's then... maybe something else.

    2) Casino buses pick up all over town. My friend's mother lives in the senior building near the triangle corner on Montrose and she catches a casino bus somewhere around there.
