Another Uptown resident is entering the blogosphere with the "Chicago Uptown Crime Blotter" blog. According to the blog, "This is not a comprehensive listing of all criminal activity in the Uptown area. It is a diary of what I hear when I am home and listening to my police scanner."Bravo to you. We will add a link off on the right so you can track crime according to his police scanner.

My only question: is there enough of a delay that this information can't be used to either warn people, show holes in coverage or make things riskier for an officer somehow? Or is all of that irrelevant since people can get their own blotter and there are the cell phone trees for gangbangers anyway?
