Passing by the Wilson Yard site this afternoon, we noticed no activity whatsoever. No equipment or workers were seen at the site today. The month is half over and it would be a shame if the development experienced another delay.
According to the December 5 Sun-Times, Mr. Holsten stated that both the Target and low-income housing would break ground in January. We will keep our eye on the site to see if it comes to be.
Perhaps he was misquoted and meant,"Break Wind" as something about Holstein's latest Target tale really stinks.
ReplyDeleteJust curious. Has anyone recognized anyone from the neighborhood working on this site. For that matter, has anyone seen miniorities working on this site? Millions have been spent leveling the site, yet I haven't seen the jobs. Did I miss the job notices posted on the construction fence?
ReplyDeleteThere is some activity today, Friday morning. Front end loader moving some dirt around and putting other dirt in a truck.
ReplyDeleteI for one am encouraged at this sign of rapid development. At this rate Wilson Yard will be finished by the time Chelsea Clinton runs for office in 2020.
We saw that yesterday Pirate. Maybe they are doing soil testing in the area of the demolished Azusa building? Its hardly groundbreaking though. We look forward to seeing the Alderman, Peter Holsten, and Target execs out there with a construction hat on and shovel. That would be rich.
ReplyDeleteWe posted a photo on WTH yesterday of the digging and of a pickup truck.
ReplyDeleteThere was a logo on the side of the pickup that looked very similar to a red bullseye.
