Is The Camera Helping?

Have any residents near Sheridan and Wilson noticed a decrease in criminal activity since the police camera was installed? Just wondering, since we noticed this building at Sheridan and Eastwood, within a few hundred feet of the camera, covered in "graff art" on its north and west sides.

  1. Nope, even worse the camera has just pushed activity to eastwood and down the alley between Wilson and Eastwood. I would say it has made the alley worse.

  2. Yes, sadly, the camera is at best a modest help. I think we all know the truth. That area won't be helped until we see some real redevelopment on it. And more than a new fast food restaurant to the Burger King site. Unfortunately, it's hard to see what building in that area would be a candidate. Also, how much of that stretch is owned by JesusPeople?

  3. JPUSA owns the Friendly Towers, the building just East of the old Burger King, the last property before Uplift on South side Eastwood (just paved as a parking lot), and the building on Eastwood directly West of that. So a good chunk, the place on Eastwood looks like it could fall over, but the outside of the Friendly Towers is well maintained, and supposedly the building next to the Burger King will be under construction soon.

  4. These particular taggers have been busy little bees... they also got the bus shelter across from Arai, on Wilson. Wonder if the camera picked that up, and if they can be identified?

  5. Does the parking lot mean we might finally see an end to that ridiculous diagonal parking, log-jam of cars that happens every day in front of Friendly Towers?
