Man Charged With Child Pornography

A man living on the 1600 block of Carmen Avenue was arrested Thursday and charged with four Class X felony counts of child pornography:  Aggravated Child Pornography – Dissemination; Aggravated Child Pornography – Possession; Child Pornography – Possession of Pictures; and Child Pornography – Possession of Movies.

His computers and other items were seized, including over 2500 pictures and videos of minors involved in sexual situations, including bondage and bestiality.  Some of the victims shown were as young as one year old.

Members of the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Child Exploitation Unit arrested Seamus Webb, 51, without incident.  They executed the search warrant based on information provided by the FBI.

Webb appeared in Bond Court this morning at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courts Building. His bond was set at $100,000 and he may not have contact with anyone under the age of 18.  His next court date is scheduled for April 11, 2013.

As disturbing as this story is, a reminder that he is presumed innocent under the law until a court finds otherwise.

Update: Mr Webb died in July 2013.

  1. Seamus?

    Shit.

Once again the bloody Irish shame an entire neighborhood.

Since he's west of Ashland why don't we trade him to nearby Lincoln Square for a gangbanger to be named later? That's barely Uptown anyway.

Not a hard core shooting banger, just a standing around calling out "Five O" and slinging some weed banger.

  3. Toni,

you've been making a whole lot of stupid and inane comments around here recently, but I've ignored you because I'm a kind and loving individual.

Remember the stupid and inane comments are my forte. Ok?

  5. You're right, Toni.

I will endeavor to be a better person.

With that I leave you an inspirational song from my misspent youth.

  6. You're an ass "Irish Pirate". I've known Seamus ("Shay") for years, as a customer at the salon he co-owned. I feel really bad for his business partner who is a great lady. I know she is floored and devastated by this news. I hope she pulls through because her business is one of those great businesses that makes a neighborhood.

Exploitation of children is just about as bad as it gets. While we don't know all the details, this looks pretty damning for Shay and it challenges my faith in humanity because I always thought of him as the sweetest guy. I didn't know him well, beyond just being a customer and seeing him over the years. He's cut my wife's hair and she enjoyed talking to him about Europe (she is European) and living in the United States. My wife will be very upset to learn of this. I wish I could keep this news from her but I know I can't.

I make no apologies for Shay ... but he is a real person who has apparently done some pretty bad shit. And real people -- children -- were affected.

Irish Pirate: making light of this, in your ongoing maintenance of a pathetic 10-year-plus internet persona, is just sad. You strike me as a small man with a big mouth. Enjoy your life.

  7. I just want to add this, in case C is reading this:

C, I'll always be your customer, and I hope you weather this. You are in my thoughts as I know this has been devastating for you. I was there today, and I'll be there next month to have A cut my hair. And the month after. And after. XO. Hang in there, please.

  8. "Mike",

it took you a month to respond to that drivel from my keyboard?

It even drove you to create a new persona to criticize me. Wow.

I'm sorta surprised UU let your comment through.

Anyway keep on truckin "Mike" and I hope you figure out whatever demon or past life experience impelled you to post that.

Given your anger and writing style I suspect I know who you are, but unlike the Pope, who claims infallibility in very limited circumstances regarding doctrine, I am a very very fallible individual.

With that I'll end this comment. I see no good coming from further typing by either you or me on this subject.
