Soul Food Coming To Clark?

We've seen enough of Jackie Taylor to know that when she something is going to happen, it generally happens. So if she says the BET Cultural Center will be opening a soul food restaurant across the street from the new theater [4450 N Clark], we're pretty sure we'll be enjoying cornbread and fried okra there at some point in the future.  With the great soul food restaurants of Chicago closing, one by one, a new one would be a welcome treat.

Watch her in this Chicago Now video, talking about the new restaurant, the new theater, who she wants to star there, and how she feels about doing a tribute to Whitney Houston at the BET.

We did cringe to hear interviewer Chris Jones talk about the theater and never once mention the name of the neighborhood it's located in.  According to him, it's on a "moribund" block somewhere between Wrigleyville and Andersonville. Oy.
