From Ald. Osterman's Friday newsletter:

"Take Back the Block!

Join us for a week of special events stretching from Monday, June 27 to Thursday, June 30.
  • On Monday night, we will kick off the week with Walk the Ward. My staff and I will walk Foster to Lawrence east of Marine Drive alongside committed community members to identify problems and issues on the street. [Meet at Buttercup Playlot, Ainslie & Sheridan, at 6:30pm]
  • We will host a pop-up farmer's market on Tuesday night in partnership with the Weiss Hospital farmers. [Buttercup Playlot, Ainslie & Sheridan, at 6:30pm]
  • On Wednesday night, we're calling all canines to participate in the Cutest Dog Contest, the first installment of our Furry Friends Summerfest.  [Buttercup Playlot, Ainslie & Sheridan, at 6:30pm]
  • On Thursday night, there will be a free basketball clinic for youth (boys & girls 5-12) at the Boys and Girls Club.[5:30-7pm, 4835 N Sheridan.]
  • The week will end with a Movie Night featuring Inception in Margate Park.  [dusk on Friday, 4921 N Marine]"
There's a lot more information here, so read it if you're interested in any of the events.  You can also read Ald. Osterman's reaction to "Operation Uptown Girl" here, from his website.  Not surprisingly, he's for it.
