Sitting At The Dock By The Lake

If you're going to the beach or the park this weekend, there's a new place to eat at Montrose Harbor that looks to be a bit above the usual fare.

The Dock is located at 200 Montrose Harbor Drive (near the volleyball courts) and the owner says, "We opened the Friday before Memorial Day and had Door County Fried Lake Perch, traditional and grilled Chicago style hot dogs with all the fixins, half-pound burgers off the grill, fresh cut fries, and on Monday we also had some fantastic fish tacos. The place is looking better every day and we invite you to come out and have a look.  The response from everyone was overwhelmingly positive and it was a lot of fun.  We are open 7 days a week from about 10:30 to dusk."
Here's a copy of their menu.  Let's support this long-time Uptown resident and small business owner in his endeavor.

  1. I cannot say what fun it is but the food was somewhat above average over all the other park food choices the lake front area has to offer. The prices where not to bad either. Good-luck in your business as I am sure you will do well for the rest of the summer.

  3. We've eaten here a few times when walking or going to the beach and love it...good burgers, hot dogs, caprese sandwiches....so nice to have this option by the water.

  4. This stand charged me $1 for my transaction because it was below $10. No place of business that accepts Visa (debit or credit) can charge a fee because your transaction is below a certain amount. So this place has made thousands of ill-gotten dollars by either charging the fee or getting customers to buy more because of this bogus policy. I called Visa to verify that a business can't have a transaction minimum or charge a fee if you don't meet a certain dollar amount. If this has happened to you call Visa customer service at 800-847-2911 and speak to an operator (not a recording) and file a complaint. You'll need the name of the business (the Dock), it's address and phone number to log a complaint. If enough people complain maybe this bogus practice will stop. If you question this policy at The Dock don't let anyone tell you they can charge this fee, they can't. Also don't let them tell you it's some kind of convenience fee either because isn't. This place has taken money from it's customers with this policy when it shouldn't have and I hope this is a step to stopping that.
