Ice Block-ed

A reader writes: "In reference to [your post about] "Stuck In The Middle With You," just wanted to let you know that last night, some trucks and crews showed up and cleared the street. The cars are still stuck, but I suppose there's not much they can really do but wait for the ice to melt anyway. But, at least you can now drive down that street [Lakeside Place between Clarendon and Marine] again."

  1. Today would have been a great day to at least try to make a dent in the ice floe. It was sunny and above freezing. Now that the pavement is exposed, hopefully it will help the melting process. Any word on what the cause was?

I drove through there this morning and it was clear.

  2. I always wondered about the low rise condo? townhouse? here, next to the gas station. It seemed to be closed up for quite some time.

By the way, that BP station always has the highest prices in the city. lnsane

  3. I walk past those townhomes every day to catch the bus. I have, on occasion, seen a woman coming out of the garage of both buildings. She looks like she might be a realtor. There seem to be cars parked in the garages once in awhile, but it never looks like anyone is actually living there.

Boy, am I a Gladys Kravitz or what? Actually, I've always found them interesting. I can't imagine them being empty for so long. They have seemed unoccupied for the 3-1/2 years I've lived in the neighborhood.
