Sunnyside Mall Uptown is excited to partner with Chicago Market to bring the highly successful Uptown Farmers Market to the Mall (Sunnyside between Beacon & Magnolia) for its 3rd Season! Starting May 3rd and running through the first Wednesday in November, neighbors can expect to see the same quality farmers and vendors conveniently located in the heart of Sheridan Park. As the date approaches, we will share more information, so keep an eye on your inbox and the Farmers Market Website.
Chicago Market and Sunnyside Mall believe that access to affordable healthy food is a human right! In addition to the same great local produce, Uptown Farmers Market will continue its highly successful SNAP/Link Match Program into the 2023 season. This program provides a 1-to-1 match of each dollar spent via the Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
The Uptown Farmers Market is planning its third season, providing a place for farmers, producers, and purveyors to sell their products directly to consumers while providing Uptown residents with healthy, fresh, and locally grown food and other goodies.
The Market features 15+ vendors and serves 500+ shoppers each week, showcasing a wide variety of offerings from fruits and vegetables, to meat, jerky, and eggs, to baked goods, cheeses, and honey. Sponsorships help support the continuation of the Uptown Farmers Market and its mission to bring fresh foods all over Uptown. We support small, family-owned farms and businesses and will continue the SNAP/Link Match Program into the 2023 season.
The Uptown Farmers Market is supported financially by vendor (booth) fees, sponsorships, grants, and donations. Vendors retain all of their sales income; the market does not receive a percentage of vendor sales. The Market operates on a small annual budget that supports an array of operating expenses, including insurance, permits, signage, promotions, and a market manager.
