Windy City Winds, "Chicago's Community Band," to Give Free Concert in Buttercup Park June 27

The Windy City Winds, "Chicago’s Community Band," will celebrate summer in the city with a program of old and new concert band favorites at 7pm on Thursday, June 27 in Buttercup Park on Sheridan Road in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.

The concert will feature festive and fun pieces such as Henry Fillmore’s Americans We, the theme from The Incredibles, a medley of tunes from the Broadway musical Les Misérables, and Jacques Offenbach’s show-stopping “Can-Can” from Orpheus in the Underworld, among other works.

This is a family-friendly event, appropriate for all ages. Audience members are encouraged to bring a blanket or a lawn chair.
