"We Never Close" -- Until It's Permanent
The 7-Eleven at Southport and Clark seems to have closed for good. There was butcher paper up in the windows and we caught workers covering the logo on the sign with black paint. (Now no one will ever know it was a 7-Eleven, right?!)
We have no idea what will happen to the store and parking lot, but with another 7-Eleven two blocks north (at Montrose), a gas station convenience store a block south, and a new convenience store opening when the gas station remodel at Irving and Clark is completed, we don't think anyone will starve. It will be interesting to see if it gets converted to residential, or possibly parking.
