Max Is Retiring, So Max's Place Will Close

With one of Uptown's fabled dive bars possibly making a comeback, another is closing its doors.

Max's Place will have a last hurrah on May 26th. Per its Facebook page:

Max is fully retiring and Cindy is having her last birthday bash. Max's Place as we know it will no longer be, so come on down and join us. Max's has been in the family for 39 years, so come and join us as we have to say goodbye. We will miss so many.

Saturday, May 26th, 8pm-3am

One ray of hope for Max's faithful is that the announcement says "Max's as we know it." Maybe a hint that Max's will rise again, a la Carol's?
