Dollar Tree Opens At 4443 North Sheridan
With little fanfare, Dollar Tree opened today at Sheridan and Agatite. It's a brand new build-out, with the A+ Store moving to the north side of the building (where Unique Thrift used to be) and Dollar Tree taking over the south side of the building, closest to the parking lot.
Apparently fanfare was unneeded, as customers were absolutely streaming in this afternoon, a real cross-section of Uptown's diversity.
Dollar Tree and Family Dollar have the same corporate ownership, so it's not exactly a newcomer to Uptown. With the Weiss Plaza Family Dollar having closed a few years ago, the Broadway/Wilson Family Dollar's future up in the air with new construction on the way, and the Edgewater Dollar Tree rumored to be closing when the Broadway/Berwyn shopping plaza closes by 2020, Uptown is a prime location for Dollar Tree. The only other one nearby is in Lincoln Square, at Western and Lawrence. (Unlike Family Dollar, every item at Dollar Tree costs a buck.)
The new store's hours are 8am-9pm Monday through Saturday, and 9am-7pm on Sunday. It accepts all major credit and debit cards, including Discover and American Express, and SNAP.
We welcome Dollar Tree to Uptown.
