What a fun and funky addition to Argyle! With First Sip Cafe, the Hoang sisters have opened a much-wished-for coffee shop and filled a long-empty storefront. You can't get much further from a traditional Asian gift shop (the previous tenant) than the comfortable eclectic vibe of First Sip, located at 1057 West Argyle.
Today was the first day of business, but they've been wowing the community with their specialty teas since this year's Argyle Night Market.
In addition to the teas, they serve Intelligentsia coffee, and pastries. And who hasn't wanted to eat and drink while sitting next to a giant Victrola, or at a Singer sewing machine, or on a genuine Naugahyde couch?
First Sip is open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 10:30pm; 9am to 10:30pm on Saturday; and 9am to 8:30pm on Sunday. And yes, it has wi-fi.
