Services and Burial Tomorrow For Uptown Newborn Thrown From High-Rise In 2015

The newborn girl who was thrown from an eighth-floor window in Uptown in 2015 will be remembered and buried Wednesday, September 13th, in a service provided by the non-profit organization, Rest In His Arms.

The service for Baby Mariam Jane Uddin will take place at 10am at St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove. Another baby girl whose body was found in a suburban shed will be remembered at the same service.

Afterward, burial of the two babies will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

This has been one of most tragic stories we've covered since this blog began. It is incomprehensible.

We apologize for the late date of this post. We only became aware of the services Tuesday evening. Community members are invited to attend the service and/or the burial.

Donations in Baby Mariam's name can be made to Rest In His Arms, which uses the funding to spread the word about Illinois's Safe Haven Law, which allows babies to be given up for adoption at firehouses, hospitals, and police stations with no questions asked.

Rest in peace, Baby Mariam Jane.
