Got A Teen? Know A Teen? After School Matters Is Now Accepting Fall Applications

After School Matters is now accepting applications for the Fall 2017 programs. For those not familiar with it, ASM is "a non-profit organization that provides life-changing after-school and summer program opportunities to more than 15,000 Chicago high school teens each year."

Some programs are internships, some are creative, but they're all interesting and fun. They have available programs all over the city, including Uptown. A quick look at the fall programming (which starts October 2nd) comes up with the following programs in Uptown, but there are plenty more if you're willing to commute:
  • Three levels of apprenticeships with Kuumba Lynx performance ensemble at Clarendon Park
  • Swimming lessons/lifeguard certifications at Uplift
  • Social Service training serving immigrants and minorities at South-East Asia Center
  • Upcycle Uptown visual arts program at Uplift
  • Urban Arts performance training at Alternatives
You can look at available programs all over the city here. And start your application here.
