Construction To Begin On Lawrence & Wilson Viaducts September 18

Notice posted at the Wilson Avenue viaduct at Lake Shore Drive

CDOT posted notices at both Lawrence and Wilson Avenue viaducts stating that the long overdue reconstruction of the crumbling bridges will commence on Monday, September 18. 

When construction is completed in March, expect new bridges that look strikingly similar to the original bridges constructed back in the 1930s. There will even be added bike lanes that will add safe passage for the many cyclists who travel to and from the lakefront.

We've posted for years about the horrible state of our Uptown viaducts and are thrilled that they are finally getting rebuilt. More details on what to expect during construction as it becomes available.
