- The Dim Sum & Then Some 5K kicks off from Buttercup Park at 8am. Don't forget the parking restrictions on Margate Terrace and Argyle east of Sheridan.
- Sheridan Park's Dick Uyvari will be honored with a Memorial Bowling Tournament at 10am at Waveland Bowl.
- There will be free walking tours of historic Hutchinson Street pointing out the historic mansions, including those designed by George Maher between 1pm and 3:30pm.
- There will be free walking tours of the Lawrence/Broadway Entertainment District at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm.
- As part of Uptown Saturday Night, there will be salsa lessons at 6pm and live music by Afinca'o at 7pm, all at Buttercup Park.
- The Pivot Arts Festival presents the satire Ubu the King at FLATSstudio, 1136 West Wilson.
- The Avon Walk To End Breast Cancer comes through Uptown in the morning. There are "cheering stations" at McCutcheon School and at the Lakefront Path and Montrose.
- The Pivot Arts Festival presents two dance programs at FLATSstudio, What is Movement? and soften every edge. The performances are at 3pm and 7pm.
Congratulations, Uptown Update! You really are a treasure, and the first thing I pull up everyday. yes, I hope that before too long, you can report that the Uptown Theater has been restored to its majesty and is reopened.
