As we've been posting for years, the next item on CTA's ambitious to-do list for the Red Line is to renovate the tracks and four stations north of Wilson: Lawrence Argyle, Berwyn, and Bryn Mawr.
Pertinent to the plan, they will hold a public meeting for residents of the affected area to get feedback about the planned redevelopment of properties along the rehabbed area, concentrating on TODs (transit-oriented developments).
The meeting for the Lawrence to Bryn Mawr Study Area will take place on Thursday, May 11th, 6pm-8pm, at the Broadway Armory, 5917 N Broadway.
According to CTA:
"The CTA, in conjunction with the Chicago Department of Planning and Development, is conducting a development-focused study that is separate but concurrent with the Red and Purple Modernization transit construction project (RPM Phase One). The purpose of the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) study is to encourage specific, community-supported redevelopment strategies for the land impacted by the RPM Phase One project construction.
Because the TOD study is community-driven, we are relying on your input. This is the first in a series of three public meetings. The meeting will provide residents and business owners with an opportunity to learn about the study, review the market analysis, talk one-on-one with the CTA study team and provide feedback and input on the overall vision for the plan.
We look forward to seeing you. If you have questions or need additional information, you may contact us at RPM@transitchicago.com or visit www.transitchicago.com/rpmproject."
