Christopher House Holds 27th Annual Benefit with Cubs Charities

Uptown has some really great social services. One of them is Christopher House, which provides services for infants as young as six weeks old, children, teens and families; from pre-school to after-school activities to high school counseling to pregnancy and family counseling. (You can read more about what they do here.) The present Uptown location, at 4701 North Winthrop, has been around for more than 20 years; Christopher House itself has been around 110 years.

Last week, Christopher House held its 27th Annual Benefit to celebrate its partnership with Cubs Charities, with the goal of helping low-income, at-risk children and their families achieve success in school, the workplace, and life. We wanted to share some photos from the evening:

The Bretz-Martinez Family of the Uptown campus was named 2017 Family of the Year.  According to Christopher House, "They have committed to their partnership with us wholeheartedly, working to provide a quality education for their family, which includes two young children with special needs. In addition, Ms. Bretz, through her active role in the Parent Policy Council, was inspired to return to school herself and is now pursuing a degree in occupational therapy to help children and families like her own."
