One Story Building On Broadway South Of Foster To Be Demolished

A one story building that stretches all the way back to the red line tracks has been sold and is slated for demolition. According to Chicago Cityscape, a demo permit was issued for 5137 N. Broadway on March 1.

When the parking lot directly to the north is included, this will be a large lot for redevelopment. The building falls into Ald. Osterman's boundaries so once we hear more about the plans, we will pass it along.

    Let's just hope it won't become another damn strip mall. And what about that former tavern-turned-currency exchange, pizza joint, decrepit property on the southeast corner of Broadway/Foster? That should go, too.
