Woman Shot Inside Car On Lawrence

According to police reports, a 29-year-old woman who was sitting inside a car was shot by someone on the street at 4:45am. It happened in the area of Magnolia and Lawrence. There are no indications from the police reports about whether the car was parked or being driven on Lawrence at the time of the shooting. Readers report hearing several gunshots and calling 9-1-1.

The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic and her condition was stabilized.

20th District officers were on the scene, which may indicate the shooting took place on the north side of Lawrence.

It's often the case in these kinds of shootings that another occupant of the car is a gang-affiliated male and the woman is an unintended victim. We'll let you know if we hear any further details.

  1. Right in front of a CHA property...

Bet if you map the murders and shootings in Uptown and Rogers Park, well over 95 percent of them have occurred within 100 feet of a CHA property.

  2. Hey Feds. Send your new Chicago ATF agents to Uptown. Federal money is funding this taxpayer-subsidized, gang-infested housing. Come clean up your mess.
