The Uptown Historical Society is proud to present the third
tour of Uptown this year - a guided tour of Graceland Cemetery on
Saturday, October 22 starting at 10AM.
Arguably the most well-known cemetery in Chicago, you will learn about
the history of the cemetery and some of its famous "residents"
(including Daniel Burnham and Marshall Field). You'll also visit the
final resting places of prominent Uptown citizens and learn about their
contributions to our community. Noted Uptown
historian Martin Tangora will lead the tour.
The tour will meet in front of the Graceland Cemetery office inside
the gates at Clark and Irving Park shortly before 10AM. No parking is available inside, so
please park on the street if you plan to drive. The tour is rain or
shine, and each participant needs to be able to walk for the duration of
the two hour tour.
Tickets can be purchased for $10 at uhsgraceland.eventbrite.com
