Spinning Sushi On Sheridan

Round and round and round it goes, where it stops, no one knows... or something like that. Signs are going up for Wabi Sabi Rotary Sushi Bar at Windsor and Sheridan, in the same strip as La Ciudad. The logo is totally different from that of Wabi Sabi in Albany Park, so we think they're separate entities. No idea as to when they'll open, but it's great to see new restaurants coming to that area.

  2. That whole corner and into the strip mall is like a scene out of a zombie movie. I'm praying businesses like this, that attract a completely different demographic, will help push the aimless out and eradicate the blight of this pocket of the neighborhood.

I also really hope they have good sushi since my current go-to has a noticeable quality drop.

  3. This strip mall is extremely uninviting. The entire parking lot does not fit into the neighborhood structure and is a holding ground for unwanted. the homeless campers and perennial bus waiters keep good businesses away, and rightfully so. Who wants to dodge these folks?

I hope this new business succeeds. I hope the landlords spruce up this eyesore.

  4. A sushi bar is a nice start but let's not forgot that this strip mall contains a pawn shop, laundromat, and a dollar store...Those are three of the strongest magnets for undesirables.

I wish them the best of luck but this is one of the most blighted parts of central Uptown.
