Arguably Uptown's most famous pizza spot at 4643 N. Broadway, Gigio's Pizza appears to be undergoing some sort of exterior upgrade.
The yellow shingles that used to cover the exterior have been removed, leaving only the steel frame. No word if this is all tied to the rehab of the building directly to the south, but we'll keep an eye on it.
Best pizza in the city.
ReplyDeleteThere used to be great looking stone or terra cotta sculpture work back when this was a bakery in the 40s. I always though those awful yellow shingles were covering it up but apparently it was covering nothing all these years.
ReplyDeleteThe place is a dump, I hope they fix it up.Worked up the courage to go in there and order a pizza.Pizza was very good but"ambience"sucked
ReplyDeleteAny change to that storefront, and the entire building, can only be an improvement.
ReplyDeleteThey really had no choice. This whole strip is getting revitalized. GREAT pizza!
ReplyDeleteSlowly but surely. I'm happy to watch these positive changes to the community.
ReplyDeleteGOOD NEWS--clean it up, renovate, and remove the bangers and drug sellers in front and watch the business thrive.
