Cubs Playing At Home Today, Possible Theatrics Ensue

The Cubs play at home on Independence Day. The game begins at 1:20pm.

We don't have any insider information, but we've lived here long enough to know that the team sometimes treat fans to patriotic extras on holidays.

So don't be alarmed if you hear fighter jets come over Uptown around 1:10pm after the National Anthem is sung, or if you hear fireworks go off around 4pm or 4:30pm at the end of the game.

It may not happen. But be aware that it might. It's not Armageddon, it's just noisy neighbors to the south.
