"Treasures of Uptown" Discusses Widespread Nirvana & Reflections on Orlando

Treasures of Uptown hosts a fun, informal, interfaith discussion group, free and open to everyone. We are meeting now at Everybody's Coffee (935 W. Wilson) on the third Saturday of the month, from 4-5pm.

Join us on June 18th at 4pm for a discussion of “Widespread Nirvana.” Rev. Patti Nakai from the Buddhist Temple of Chicago will make the case that nirvana (state of selflessness) is found far and wide among many communities, including those outside of Buddhism. The enlightened don’t always wear the costume of shaved heads and orange robes.

In addition, our discussion this Saturday will provide a space for some reflection on the tragedy in Orlando.
