Shots Fired At Wilson & Clarendon Tonight

Shortly before 10pm tonight, shots were fired at Wilson and Clarendon. According to witnesses, two vehicles (dark Chevy and a van) exchanged gunfire in front of 4550 North Clarendon, aka the Twin Towers. The building lobby was "all shot up," according to Chicago Scanner's Twitter feed.

Clarendon is blocked off between Wilson and Montrose, and there are quite a few first responders at the scene.  There are reports of someone being hit, but as of 10:30pm, no victim has been identified.

All this is unofficial and has not been confirmed, but the photos above do show the glass in 4550's lobby shattered and the police vehicles blocking off Clarendon at Wilson.

We will update as we learn more.

  1. I heard these shots and called 911 too. Enough is enough. So scary to hear so close to home. Time to catch the people and remove them permanently. Use the higher taxes to pay for their removal.

    3. According to the website, the entire building is rental. It is owned and managed by the Lake View Towers Residents Association Inc.

    1. You probably heard sirens from the emergency rescue of someone who fell into the lake at the clock tower in Lakeview as well. You were closer to that incident than the shots fired.

  6. Strangely enough, all the windows were replaced by the time I walked passed there the next evening. Do they keep spares in stock for incidents like this?
I also wonder what the police are doing to investigate this. My guess is nothing, even though I'm sure half the building know who was involved. And that's a big building.
