Graceland Cemetery is fascinating, historic and beautiful nearly any time of year, but especially popular for walking tours in October. If you enjoy an autumnal stroll, changing foliage, some new knowledge, and a little ghostlore on the side, we highly recommend taking one of the tours that are available. Some tours are already sold out, so if you're taking one, best hurry to reserve a spot.(Graceland was recently certified as an arboretum, and while it may not have a corpse flower, there are corpses aplenty. Take that, suburbia!)
- Sunday, October 18 (1:30pm) and Sunday, October 25 (1:30pm). Conducted by the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Admission is $15, free for CAF members. Buy your tickets and/or make your reservations here.
- Saturday, October 24 (10am); Sunday, October 25 (10am); Sunday, October 25 (1pm). Conducted by Uptown legend Al Walavich on behalf of Chicago History Museum. Admission is $25, $20 for CHM members. Click each link to buy tickets.
- There's also a self-conducted tour of Graceland. You can get maps at the cemetery office during open hours. See here for more information.
