The CTA will be closing Wilson between Clifton and Broadway twice later in October to work on the new tracks overhead. Here are the details:
October 19 through October 21, to pour the concrete deck
Work Hours will be Monday through Wednesday, 9am to 4pm
Impact to Community:
- Wilson Ave. will be closed to vehicular traffic but open to pedestrian traffic
- Limits of operation will be between Wilson & Broadway to Wilson & Clifton
- Station entrance at Wilson will remain in operation
- Bus #78 will be rerouted and will not stop at Wilson
- Service drive for Truman College will remain accessible
- There will be dust/noise while work is being performed
October 26 through October 30, to perform steel installation
Work Hours will be Monday through Friday (24/7 Closure)
Impact to Community:
- Wilson Ave. will be closed to vehicular traffic but open to pedestrian traffic
- Limits of operation will be between Wilson & Broadway to Wilson & Clifton
- Station entrance at Wilson will remain in operation
- Bus #78 will be rerouted and will not stop at Wilson

Can someone tell me why the #78 bus was rerouted from running down Montrose from Broadway. That was the initial route years ago and then CTA changed it to run down Wilson.

Just a guess, but probably so it can connect with the Red Line at Wilson, as there is no Red Line stop at Montrose.
