#TBT: WWII-Era Civilian Defense Parade On Broadway

It's Throwback Thursday!  According to a post on Forgotten Chicago, these scenes are of a "Parade starting at Office of Civilian Defense headquarters at Broadway and Montrose, November 1942." They originate in the Library of Congress. The scene is still recognizable. The one-story building in the background is still there, now housing Azusa Liquors. The yellow brick apartment building is still around and there are still storefronts at ground level, although a few display windows have turned into walls. The boys in these photos would be in their 70s and 80s today. Wonder if any of them still live in Uptown?
