Yesterday morning, before the Stanley Cup made an appearance in the Pride Parade, it visited Crew (4804 North Broadway), along with a coterie of political and sports figures.  The Chicago Gay Hockey Association and Equality Illinois held pre-parade breakfast receptions with elected officials including Sen. Mark Kirk, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, Alderman James Cappleman, and others.  This was the Cup's second 2015 visit to Uptown; it also appeared at the Mumford & Sons concert earlier this month.

  1. Until the Stanley Cup and Lionel get together it doesn't mean anything.

Now I understand the Blackhawks might be unwilling to have the Cup overshadowed by Uptown's star piece of lawn statuary. However, I think a compromise can be worked out where Lionel and the Cup get together at the Sonic for a Victory Shake.

So let it be written. So let it be done.
